Since 2017, the SOFAR Collaborative has operated as a Chartered and professionally facilitated open forum focused on showcasing wildfire resilience and recovery projects, exchanging wildfire risk-reduction best practices, and communicating the science behind beneficial fire, fire adaptation, and fire recovery treatments throughout the South Fork American River watershed.
In the SOFAR Collaborative, private landowners, stakeholders, land managers, governments, nonprofits and community-based organizations act in good faith to implement the goals of the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy.
